The European wood coatings market represents nowadays a volume of over 500 MT with an annual growth rate of about 3%. The furniture sub-segment is by far the largest with a share of 56%. Even though the furniture coatings market is quite mature, there is still potential for growth by means of technological innovations and focus on new application areas. As wood finishing lines continue to run at higher speeds, productivity is one of the key focus areas, combined with a desire to reduce energy costs and efficiently use the coating materials.
