Precipitated calcium carbonate (PCC) as a functional, high-quality filler for interior emulsion paints

Calcium carbonate is alongside of talc, kaolin and mica the most important filler for interior emulsion paints. Calcium carbonate is available in a wide range of qualities which range from processed mineral limestone (GCC) through to synthetic calcium carbonate (PCC) of much higher purity and defined physical and chemical character. These synthetic calcium carbonates with their finer crystal structure and defined particle size, showing an improved set of properties which can only be produced in a chemical precipitation process through the fine process control and technology.
