Everything about our world changed on September 11,2001 when terrorists took so many lives In hijacking aircraft to crash into the World Trade Center and the Pentagon. During recovery operations, multiple physical hazards threatened the safety of rescue workers, which they braved valiantly. Many lost their lives in the collapsing rubble in New York.Had this not been an emergency, prompting urgent and heroic measures in search of possible survivors, normal industrial prudence and established legal restrictions would have precluded workers from entering the conditions that cost so many lives in this case. Thus, the terrorists caused a breakdown in precautions that we normally rely on to keep workers safe.
