The Private Wireless Coalition has submitted reply comments to the Federal Communications Commission in regard to a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) on "Improving Public Safety Communications in the 800 MHz Ban&' A number of aggregate producers utilize two-way radios tuned to this part of the spectrum in their operations and could be impacted by the FCC's decision in this matter. As wireless communications use has increased, there has been a corresponding increase in interference to police, fire and other emergency communications. Under an initial proposal offered by Nextel to alleviate this problem, many industrial users, such as aggregate producers, would have been forced to relocate to a different part of the spectrum.
