Expanding Process Integration

I read with interest the article "Improve Energy Efficiency via Heat Integration" in the Dec, 2010 issue. It reminded me of our R&D activities around process systems engineering (PSE) in the 1980s. More than 200 papers about process heat integration were presented in those days by members of the PSE community, inspired mainly by the two oil crises of that time.
