Impact of Regulation on European Coating Manufacturers

The European Union has adopted several regulations that have now and will continue to have in the future a strong impact on the coating manufacturing industry, including REACH, on the Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation and Restriction of Chemicals and CLP, on the Classification, Labelling and Packaging of substances and mixtures. Most important consequences of these new regulations and the experience from coating manufacturers with their implementation will be discussed. Will this mean that we will see less new regulation in the next couple of years? The author will review items that should affect our industry and that are currently under discussion or that will soon be on the agenda of the European Authorities.
