Stoneco of Michigan, a subsidiary of Old-castle Materials, operates four limestone quarries in Southeastern Michigan. The Newport Quarry is located about 25 miles south of Detroit on the shore of Lake Erie, the Denniston Quarry lies between Detroit and Toledo in the city of Monroe, Mich., the Maybee Quarry is located to the west of the Newport quarry in rural Monroe county and the Ottawa Lake Quarry is about a mile north of the Ohio-Michigan state line. Also, Stoneco operates a recycled concrete distribution yard in Ann Arbor and digs ponds and markets the spoils for private homeowners in the Milan and Ida areas of southeast Michigan.
