NSSGA names Sterling Safety Award winners, scholarship winner

The National Stone, Sand & Gravel Association announced that its Sterling Safety Awards, which recognize top company performers, go to Mississippi Lime Co., Alton, Ill., and Material Service Corp. (a division of Hanson Aggregates), Chicago, in the large company category and to Chantilly Crushed Stone Inc., Chantilly, Va., and Renner Quarries Ltd., Dixon, Ill., in the medium and small categories, respectively. Among outstanding individual sites, the first place winner in the Safety Excellence Awards' large size category was Plant 112/Glendale, Rinker Materials Corp., West Division, Glendale, Ariz.; medium category, Sieboldt Quarry, Rogers Group Inc., Springville, Ind.; and small category, a two-way tie between Sunniland Quarry, Florida Rock Industries, Immokalee, Fla.; and Portable Wash Plant #1, Roverud Construction Inc., Spring Grove, Minn.
