Back in the early 1990s, there was an industry effort brewing to divert production fines from aggregates plants to agricultural operations for use as a soil additive. In 1994, the National Aggregates Association held a conference on Remineralization and Sustainable Agriculture, and, in 1995, in the pages of Pit & Quarry, an important article on soil remineralization, written by Robert J. of Dan Gernatt Gravel Products, Collins, N.Y., was published.
