The major automobile makers are plowing billions of dollars into the rollout of hydrogen-powered vehicles,but one of the issues that still has to be mapped out is how to safely store H_2 at fueling stations.Hydrogen Engine Center,Inc.(HEC;Algona,IA;www.hydrogenenginecenter.com) may have found the answer:ammonia.The company is working with Sawtelle & Rosprim,Inc.(Corcoran,CA;www.sawtellerosprim.com) to design and build an ammonia-fueled irrigation pump system that complies with California' new emissions requirements,which take effect in 2010.
