EVALUATION OF RESISTANCE OF POLISH OILSEED WINTER RAPE CULTIVARS TO STEM CANKER AND SCLEROTINIA STEM ROT

Thirteen Polish winter oilseed rape (Brassica napus L.) cultivars were evaluated for resistance to stem canker (Leptosphaeria maculans/Phoma lingam) and sclerotinia stem rot (Sclerotinia sclerotiorum) under artificial infection in greenhouse and fieldconditions. Results obtained in three consecutive growing seasons demonstrated inter varietal differences in resistance to the tested pathogens. The winter rape cultivars: Bor, BOH 1592, BOH 1693, MAH 1391 and MAH 1592 were resistant to both diseases, while cultivars Leo and Polo were found to be susceptible. The cultivar Bolko was resistant to stem canker but very susceptible to sclerotinia stem rot.
