摘要

A high-voltage cathode initiates an electron emission, resulting in a reduction in the carbon dioxideconcentration in exhaust gas from the burning of hydrocarbon fuel. Assuming that the observedcarbon dioxide reduction is originated from the molecular decomposition, the energy needed for theendothermic reaction of this carbon dioxide reduction may stem primarily from the internal energyreduction in the exhaust gas in accordance of the first law of the thermodynamics. An oxygenincrease due to the reduction in carbon dioxide in a discharge gas was observed in real time.
