Shell announced that the Majnoon oilfield in southern Iraq it operates has successfully exported its first shipment of crude oil to Shell trading which it said was "a significant milestone" for the oilfield. The achievement comes as production at Majnoon has reached a current average of 210,000 barrels of oil per day (bpd), well above the 175,000 bpd 'First Commercial Production' target which means that Shell can begin its cost recovery following the extensive rehabilitation work at the oilfield.
