The New Dutch Spatial Planning Act: Continuity and Change in the Way in Which the Dutch Regulate the Practice of Spatial Planning

In 1999 the Dutch volume was published in the series Compendium of Spatial Planning Systems in Europe (EU Compendium, 1999), published by the European Commission. That volume contained a fairly detailed exposition in English of Dutch spatial planning - the regulations, the organisations and the practices. It has not been updated. This article can be regarded as a partial update. And that is necessary, for in 2000 work started on a new spatial planning act.
