摘要

A new test facility for the study of lifetime of a copper cavity with respect to cyclic microwave heating has been created on the base of the JINR free-electron maser (FEM) oscillator. The test cavity is designed so that the heating conditions corresponding to CLIC collider accelerating structure (the operating frequency being 30 GHz) are reproduced at the surface. The microwave power from the oscillator is transmitted via a quasi-optic two-mirror transmission line and wave-type converters. Experimental design and preliminary results of cavity powering are presented.
