We consider peculiarities of the light propagation in electro-optical crystals with the rotating optical "indicatrix" (index ellipsoid). Eigenmodes in such a medium have right- and left-hand circularly polarized components propagating with different phase velocities. We consider spatial and temporal optical solitons in crystals with second- and third-order nonlinearity. We discuss the problem of the frequency superposition by the transition to a frame connected with the axes of the rotating indicatrix, and phenomena suitable for the observation of effects caused the nonlinear superposition law.
