Developing safe industrial processes is as important in Europe,Asia,and the rest of the world,as it is in the U.S.The Center for Chemical Process Safety(CCPS;www.aiche.org/ ccps),founded by AIChE in the aftermath of the tragic events in Bhopal,India,nearly 23 years ago,has the ultimate goal of enminating catastrophic process safety incidents around the world by:advancing state-of-the-art of process safety technology and management practices;serving as a premier resource for process safety information;fostering process safety learning in undergraduate engineering education;promoting process safety as a key industry value.
