We demonstrate how to separate the global rotation in a quantum N-body system completely from the internal motion. It is shown that any common eigenfunction of the total orbital angular momentum (l) and the space inversion in the system can be expanded with respect to (2l + 1) base-functions, where the coefficients are the functions of internal variables. We establish explicitly the equations for those functions, which are (2l + 1) coupled partial differential equations containing only (3N - 6) internal variables. (C) 2001 Elsevier Science B.V.
