The fabrics industry would do well to consider the potential of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) applied to clothing articles. Specifically, RFID can be used to accelerate the marketing and rotation of items. One such example took place in Toulouse, where Serge Blanco, a men's sportswear brand, started using RFID at the beginning of 2009 to label its garments. As from 2010, all its suppliers will use such labels. Thepositive results are twofold with less warehouse storage area required, while increasing sales.
