摘要

This study aimed to investigate a highly debated topic in university education; the relationship between theory and practice, as perceived by the students. In particular the aim was to understand the students of the Drama Department, Faculty of Fine Arts, Yeditepe University. This study showed that the reluctance of students was not only limited to theoretical courses but also included a reluctance to participate in practical courses and workshops. It was also noted that university education was not perceived by the students as a process in which universal knowledge is discussed and critical thinking is encouraged, rather it was seen only as a source of vocational training.
