摘要

This paper discusses the role of culture in the production of knowledge in Physical Education in Brazil and identifies how some researchers perceive it in the field and in its own theoretical production. To this end, we conducted interviews with six researchers from different Brazilian universities, as well as theoretical incursions into the object of study. The results show that culture is both understood as "central" by some of the interviewee, as "neither central nor peripheral" by others, and its understanding is quite diverse, which points towards peculiar and justifiable perspectives about the field derived from the theoretical-argumentative basis that guide the production of each researcher.
