Revitalize a Healthy Village Environment through Eco-Landscape Design

Background: Kampung Titingan, Tawau Sabah is a floating village where it has rich and diversified in culture of Bugis, Bajau and Banjar. However, the main problem is that they do not have a proper place or platform to express their cultures and traditions. Objectives: The objective of the paper is to establish a new model of eco-cultural floating village where culture act as a main driver which will allow the interaction within the communities and affect the local economy later on. Results: By providing a place in eco-cultural village, the villagers can revitalize a healthy village environment through landscape setting and activities as well as strengthen the local cultural values. The village will have strong cultural values from their traditional celebrations of their cultural activities. The community, economy and culture are used as a generator that will move and change the life of the villagers and bring a lot of benefit in the future. Conclusion: By providing a platform for the villagers to express their culture and traditions, they will not only ensure their culture preservation and continuation to the younger generations, but they indirectly will promote their culture to the world through the public participation and involvement in the local traditional activities. In a long term, it will give the village an economical boost as more visitors will come and visits this diversified and unique cultural village.
