:Objective To evaluate the need for a standardized training among newly recruited nurses, and to provide a basis for making a scientific and reasonable training plan. Methods 〓Based on the Bloom's taxonomy of educational objectives, a self-designed questionnaire was used to investigate the need for a standardized training among newly recruited nurses form 3 hospitals. Results 〓The survey showed that 63.28%(243/384)of nurses chose to participate training between 15:30 and 17:30, 58.59%(225/384)nurses preferred training once a month, 65.89%(253/384)of nurses preferred the 1-hour training. The most popular ways of training were case-analysis; lecture; scenario simulation and demonstration. The total score of teaching needs assessment was 108.90±11.60, the score of each dimension from high to low was skill dimension, emotion dimension and knowledge dimension. The newly recruited nurses had higher needs for high risk medications management, emergency care for critically ill patients and future development of nursing specialty and career planning. Conclusion 〓The newly recruited nurses had urgent demand for standardized training teaching. The hospital managers should combine the teaching needs of different nurses in formulating education and training plans, and then improve the training efficacy and the quality of nursing.
