Cultural difference of affective responses to mourn images between Asian and Western people Mourn is feeling of strong sadness typically for death of some- one with close relationship. Although grief is also feeling of intense sadness, they are different in which grief focuses more on internal experience, whereas mourn emphasizes external expression. Con- sequently, mourn is an affective process influenced by one’s beliefs, religious practices, and cultural backgrounds.
