Rehab on the English Riviera

In association with consulting engineer AECOM and main contractor Balfour Beatty Utility Solutions (BBUSL), South West Water (SWW) is undertaking a sewer rehabilitation programme in Torbay in Devon (UK). After CCTV inspection and analysis, the water utility found that a section of clayware sewer pipeline running beneath 85 steep steps connecting Melville Street and Rock Road needed renovation. Located in an 'old town' area of Torquay on the English Riviera, these steps are believed to be the steepest in the town.
