Avoiding Cr(V1) in leather manufacture

As a result of the investigations, and based on our current knowledge and experience, the formation of Cr(Ⅵ) in leather can be avoided if the following precautions are taken: 1. Use high-quality chrome tanning agents, 2. Use auxiliaries with a reducing action at the neutralisation stage, 3. Apply vegetable retanning agents at levels of greater than 1%.
