Sustainability: Countdown for the chemical and leather sectors

There is a depletion of natural resources, a release of environmentally detrimental products, and a limited ability for the environment to absorb manufactured substances and waste. Moreover, the standards and well being of people in technically developed societies, and the aspirations of the developing sector, are entirely dependent upon sustainable resources and the maintenance of a quality environment. There is a growing global awareness of these limits, and an understanding that the quality of life in the near future - and for future generations - is not sustainable based on current practices.
