At present, all of the wastewater discharges from manufacture are delivered to reception sumps through drainage pipes. However, in the event of the tannery recommencing the processing of raw hides in the future, provision is in place for the segregation of sulfide containing effluents and delivery to a sulfide aeration plant. This is not in use, but regularly tested being equipped for venturi aeration and fully operational.
