Contractor PJ Davidson UK has slipformed more than 1 million linear metres of concrete barrier, curb and drain in the last 14 years. The company passed this incredible milestone in October this year, during a night shift on a motorway widening project in England. While this achievement might be common among US contractors, the company, based in Exeter in Devon, is thought to be one of the only companies of its kind in Europe to hit the 1,000km mark. Davidson purchased its first Gomaco Commander III slipform paver in 1994, having worked as an earthmoving contractor in support of a concrete train. The company now runs a fleet of four Commander HI pavers on projects across the UK and in other European countries.
