Indonesia's road plans

Indonesia Has set a target of completing work on 7,000km roads for the trans-Asia and trans-Asean networks by 2014. The trans-Asean network includes the 3,000km highway project in south Kalimantan on which work is currently underway. The trans-Asia network includes the 1,000km highway from north coast of Java to Bali and the 3,000km highway across east Sumatra. The trans-Kalimantan and trans-Sumatra roads will be ready for traffic at the end of thisrnyear and the authorities plan to make subsequent improvements and upgrades to these links.
