Houston-Galveston Navigation Channels-45 ft Project Dredging Midbay

Galveston Bay is home to a variety of marine activities with a vast amount of the surrounding area dependant upon the proper management of its valuable resources. The Houston-Galveston Midbay Project represents the goals of the agencies responsible for maintaining this waterway's crucial role in the local economy and recreation of the region. Many interested constituencies have played an important role in shaping the direction of the bay along with the methods used to achieve the desired results. In order to accomplish the goals set forth by those most directly affected by changes to this waterway, the US Army Corps of Engineers in cooperation with The Port of Houston and other agencies have developed a long term plan that address a wide spectrum of concerns. Part of this program is currently being implemented by Weeks Marine Inc. as it has commenced with the largest dredging project the company has ever undertaken.
