Contaminated dredged sediment can cause significant environmental problems with ineffec-tive treatment processes and costly storage. A novel approach to the remediation of dredged sediments applies the innovative and cost-effective ViroSoil™ Technology which results in the 100% neutralisation of acidity, the fixing in a non-leachable form of any metals present in the sediment, more than 99% removal of any metal contaminants in leach waters and the stabilisation of any nutrients present.
