BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair Drydock Sump Maintenance Dredging

Contractor R.E. Staite Engineering Inc., San Diego, California (CA) performed dredging of migratory sediments from BAE's drydock sump and side slopes to restore the sump floor to the design depth of-70' MLLW. Dredging of the sump assured the continuing operation of the drydock in accepting and discharging vessels for repair work at all tide levels. The materials were not suitable for offshore disposal. All dredge spoils were disposed upland. The entire project from mobilization to demobilization was completed on time within a strict window in the ship repair schedule to assure uninterrupted shipyard operations.
