Salt Marsh Restoration through Beneficial Reuse of Dredge Material

Due to rising sea levels many of Rhode Island's salt marshes, including the marshes in Ninigret Pond, are beginning to drown in place, becoming mud flats or open water. Why is this a problem? Salt marshes perform many important functions, such as storm protection for communities along our shorelines and habitat for a variety of wildlife.
