摘要

Line 14 of the Paris metro will be extended as far as Orly Airport,in order to improve the link between the airport and the centre of Paris. Setec, leader of the project management consortium for the South extension, designed in particular the northern section of the extension, including 4.6 km of tunnel, a station (Kremlin-Bicêtre-Hôpital) and five accessory structures and a station. On the central section, Setec has designed two stations (Chevilly-Trois-Communes and Porte-de-Thiais). The major challenges for the tunnel are the 1.6 km passage under the Lutetian limestone quarries, and the Institut-Gustave-Roussy station crossing, interlinking with Line 15. Each station has its specific features, although their common feature is that they are integrated in environments incorporating numerous man-made constraints, in geological horizons having a major impact on their structural design.
