Working Time around the World treats the topic of modern working hours in a broad and comprehensive way. As stated in the first pages, the authors try to provide answers to the question of progress in the reduction of working hours during the last 70 years. To do this, they give a systematic overview of the situation with regard to working hours all over the world including both developing and industrialized countries. Their analysis is based on data and information sources such as legal texts, statistical surveys and 15 national studies carried out in developing countries.
