PCTel expands industrial IoT portfolio to enable wireless connectivity

PCTel announced an expanded industrial internet of things (IoT) portfolio adding industrial access points, sensor communication and radio modules to its line of purpose-built antennas. The new additions include the Industrial IoT Access Point, an 802.11ac Wave 2 access point, and Industrial IoT Radio Module, a rugged, low-power consumption 802.11ac WiFi radio module. Industrial IoT Access Point is designed to ensure high throughput over a wide temperature range and deliver reliable connectivity for industrial and outdoor applications. This small, lightweight device supports dual 2×2 MIMO radios, one operating in the 2.4 GHz band and the other in the 5 GHz band. A development kit will be made available to allow OEMs to create custom software for their applications. Industrial IoT Radio Module can be installed in a wide variety of products that accept standard mini-PCIe cards to support industrial applications.
