High Power Efficiency Microwave and mm-Wave Power Amplifiers

In both communications and radar systems, phased array antennas are increasingly being favored over conventional mechanically-scanned systems.rnApplications in military scenarios, using active electronically-scanned arrays (AESA) require an efficient source (or sources) of microwave power. Today and into the foreseeable future, RF semiconductor power amplifiers (mainly MMICs) are used to supply the required power to each individual element in the active array.
