Our May 2007 cover story exhibited a severe case of Heroes worship. We were smitten by the NBC drama, a sprawling soap with dozens of characters, most of whom suddenly develop superpowers. We dubbed Heroes creator Tim Kring "television's lord of the geeks" and predicted that his show could "well end up surpassing other cult touchstones" like Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Galactica, and Lost.
