If you had to guess who directed an upcoming star-studded martial arts flick about a metal-fisted blacksmith, RZA might not be your first stab. But in many ways, his transition from Wu-Tang Clan mastermind to Hollywood hyphenate was inevitable. For years, the rapper-producer studied moviemaking under Quentin Tarantino. And like any good grasshopper, when it was time for his directorial debut, he drew inspiration from his mentor. Directed by, cowritten by, cocomposed by, and costarring RZA (born Robert Diggs), November's The Man With the Iron Fists is an old-time, elegantly violent kung-fu flick in the mold of Kill Bill. Just watch out for the flying eyeball. (No, seriously.)
