摘要

There's a reason your spinning instructor continues to play "We Found Love" in every class. At a solid 129 beats per minute, the Rihanna song was practically engineered to make you want to move faster and work harder. Though the relationship between exercise and music is still being explored, researchers have found that listening to upbeat tunes during a workout not only causes you to push harder, it also distracts you from knowing you're doing so. Of course, different types of exercise call for different types of music. The manic backbeat and buildup of a Calvin Harris production might be perfect for a long run, but what about when you're lifting weights? Or doing yoga? We asked fitness professionals to craft their ideal playlists and plotted them against the segments of a workout. Here are four optimized playlists that will inspire even the most slothful among us to pick up the pace.
