摘要

We cannot imagine modern technology without springs in their wide variety of shapes, as they have made important contributions to general technical development. Thanks to efficient design methods 1 and 2 and production processes 3, the material value of a single spring is usually very small. However, if it fails when integrated within a larger assembly the consequential damage may be very considerable indeed. The importance of spring testing and the methods used to detect and reject defective springs safely and quickly cannot therefore be overestimated. This paper describes modern testing facilities for torsional springs.
