Balfour blames UK construction services for £75M profit warning

Balfour Beatty, which rejected a £3B merger with Caril-lion this summer, has announced a £75M profit warning in its Construction Services UK (CSUK) activities. Trading across the rest of the group remains in line with expectations. The group has also announced the appointment of a new chief executive, Leo Quinn, following five months of searching. Quinn, currently group chief executive at QinetiQ, and who will take up his new role from January 1, 2015, started his career in 1979 as a civil engineer - in Balfour's UK construction services business.
