Education and Industry Join Forces in a Community Education Project

Local industry and education representatives joined forces to bring students the opportunity to meet professionals in the field of welding to discuss employment and educational opportunities at the Oklahoma City Third Annual Welding Show, held on March 5, at the new Alliance Steel facilities. The show is an annual event cosponsored by the AWS Oklahoma City Section and the Central Oklahoma Student Section, based at the Mid-Del Lewis Eubanks Vo-Tech, Midwest City. The event continues to grow, and this year attendance reached more than 350, with instructors from 17 welding programs for 15 schools attending with their students and 24 area businesses providing welding professionals to share their skills and knowledge with the students.
