It's Been A Grand Year

Wow! What an exciting, fast moving year it has been for me and the Society. During the past year, the American Welding Society has made quite a string of accomplishments. I'd like to point out a few of the highlights. 1. For the first time in many years, the American Welding Society hosted the 50th Annual IIW Assembly. We also hosted the ISO Technical Committee TC44 for the first time. As our participation in global activities continues to grow, we see an ongoing need for the development of codes, standards and personal certifications such as the AWS Welding Engineer that can be used worldwide. 2. Our first Congressional Fellow will start his year in Washington, D.C., this September.
