Variety is the spice of life. It's an old saying but no less true today than when it was first penned many years ago. Variety makes us acknowledge a different point of view, helps us establish our likes and dislikes, opens new vistas, prevents us from becoming too complacent with the status quo and, most of all, stimulates the mind. With all those factors in mind, variety plays a major role when it comes to putting together the editorial content of the Welding Journal. The goal of the magazine is to give something to everybody within the confines of a finite number of pages. It can be a daunting task because members of the American Welding Society come from such diverse backgrounds, life experiences and geographical locations.
