Advances in Flux Cored Electrodes Reflected in New Classifications

The most recent publication of A5.20, Specification for Carbon Steel Electrodes for Flux Cored Arc Welding nearly doubles the electrode classifications available and provides for a wide range of optional supplementary designators. These changes represent the advances made by the electrode industry to meet the many needs of the welding community. ASME incorporated an identical specification (SFA-5.20) into Section IIC of its Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code.
