I was pleased to take note of the description of the future EWF strategy including the cooperation with IIW and, here in particular, of the qualification guideline relating to the "International Welding Structures Designer". During the consultations, it was certainly no easy path to arrive at the training programme existing now. The solution found in this respect, i.e. division into two parts, fulfils a good purpose. In the near future, it will emerge whether the proposed teaching contents coincide with the set of DIN-Eurocodes standards which are being revised at the moment.
