Continuing Professional Development: an essential part of continued competence

It is a fact that some individuals and organisations will only ever comply with requirements if they are compelled to do so. Voluntary compliance with essential requirements is intended to permit flexibility in self-regulation, it is not designed to provide an unwritten 'do nothing' option. Structured learning through Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is necessary to maintain, update and increase your job knowledge. You may well know that to be true but soon you will have to prove that you do.
