2020 Reports to the SAWE Board of Directors

With the 2020 SAWE Conference canceled due to the ongoing COVID- 19 crisis, the SAWE Board of Directors (BoD) held its annual meeting via Zoom on May 23, 2020. Minutes from the meeting will be provided in a subsequent issue of Weight Engineering. SAWE VPs and Committee Heads all send reports to the Executive Director. These reports provide information and status updates and various aspects of the society. Reports from the VPs have been published here; reports from the Committee Heads may be found on Group Offi ce or upon request from the Executive Director. For the 2019-2020 year, the Executive Vice President (EVP) coordinated eff orts with those of the President and the rest of the Executive Committee to deliver improvement in the health of the Society through increased interaction with our Corporate Partners, Company Members, and individual members. As of the writing of this report, the membership stands at 601, down from 613 at the same time last year. SAWE lost NASA LaRC as a Corporate Partner Silver (CP-S). SAWE gained ATR Aircraft as a Company Member Level 2 (CM-2). SAWE gained BAE Systems as a Company Member Level 1 (CM-1). SAWE is pursuing CP-S membership (calendar year) payment past due as of December 31, 2019 from Airbus and NGC, current status arrears.
